刺し子作家・講師として活動しています。

短期大学で服飾・繊維化学・生活文化を専攻。就職氷河期に社会人となり、憧れていた業界には進めませんでしたが、得意分野を活かせる職に就き、社会人生活をスタートさせました。

総合電機メーカーではBtoB向けマイクロソフト オフィシャルトレーナー（MOT）として教育・研修業務に従事。その後、外資系製薬メーカーの人事部に転職し、採用や組織づくり、人材育成に携わり、医学系の公益社団法人で専門医教育カリキュラムの構築業務に携わりました。
30代後半に重い病を経験し手術や治療のため退職。この経験が刺し子との出会いにつながりました。2012年夏のことです。

2019年より刺し子作家・講師として活動を開始。自身の教室運営のほか、ヴォーグ学園、よみうりカルチャー、三越カルチャーサロン、ユニクロの刺し子リペアなどでデザイン監修やスタッフ指導を経験。
著書に『刺し子のきほん』（主婦の友社）があり、共著や雑誌掲載も多数。
刺し子は独学で始めた後、現代刺し子の第一人者・吉田英子氏の娘、久美子氏の指導を仰ぎ、日本の伝統文様に着想を得て、刺し子の伝統を尊重しつつ、枠にとらわれすぎず、独創性も強すぎない「私らしく暮らしを彩る刺し子」をテーマに作品づくりを続けています。

Yukiko Ichiki

Born in Shizuoka Prefecture and based in Tokyo, I work as a Sashiko artist and instructor.

I studied fashion, textiles, and lifestyle culture at a junior college. I entered the workforce during Japan’s employment ice age, and although I was unable to pursue a career in the industry I had long admired, I was able to start my professional life in a role that allowed me to utilize my strengths.

I began my career at a major electronics manufacturer as a B2B Microsoft Official Trainer (MOT), focusing on education and training. Later, I moved to the human resources department of a foreign pharmaceutical company, where I was involved in recruitment, organizational development, and talent training. In my late 30s, I experienced a serious illness and left the company—an unexpected turn that led me to discover Sashiko.

Since 2019, I have been active as a Sashiko artist and instructor. In addition to running my own classes, I have supervised designs and trained staff for schools and workshops including Vogue Gakuen, Yomiuri Culture Center, Mitsukoshi Culture Salon, and Uniqlo’s Sashiko Repair program. I am the author of Sashiko no Kihon (Shufu-no-Tomo) and have contributed to numerous co-authored works and magazines. I began learning Sashiko independently and later received guidance from Kumiko Yoshida, daughter of contemporary Sashiko master Eiko Yoshida.

Inspired by traditional Japanese patterns, I aim to create designs that naturally blend into modern life. While respecting the traditions of Sashiko, I work within a personal approach that is not bound by strict rules nor overly experimental, producing handmade Sashiko pieces that subtly brighten everyday life.

2017年7月　製作物の記録としてSNSの投稿をはじめる。

2019年2月　ワークショップ開催。
2020年2月　刺し子教室をはじめる。
2021年10月　MIROOMオンラインレッスン開始。
2022年11月　著書「刺し子のきほん」出版。（現在第3刷）
